This course demonstrates the standard features of a SOLA (Scheduled Online Learning and Assessment) enabled course.
It contains:

- in-built assessment
- in-built tracking and reporting
- differentiated study
The purpose of the course is to demonstrate to staff how the VLE can be used to enable, support and track online independent learning utilising open access and freely available resources. The advantages of this approach are many and include:
- develop digital literacy skills
- develop independent learning skills
- enable students to repeat learning and self assess
- provide clear tracking of student achievement
